TWO brothers have been urged to think before they get "paralytic" again by a magistrate after they pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly in Kidderminster.

Leonard and William Loveridge were arrested for the offence in Green Street on January 17 after door staff refused them entry to a pub.

Mark Soper, prosecuting, said: "One defendant tried to throw a punch that didn't connect and at that point he was detained. H ewas still abusing te staff when police arrived.

"Officers said both [of the men] were obviously under the influence of alcohol and despite several hints to leave, they did not and gave abuse towards the officers, and they were arrested."

Leonard Loveridge, 24 of Aberystwyth Holiday Village, accepted the statement made in court by the prosecutor, referring to himself as "a bit of an idiot", while his 26-year-old brother William, of Godson Place, Kidderminster, apologised.

He said: "I apologise for what I did. There was just too much alcohol and silly mistakes."

The men pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly when they appeared at Kidderminster Magistrates' Court on Thursday, February 20.

Chairman of the magistrates, Roger Green fined the brothers £50 each and ordered they both pay £80 in costs and a £20 victim surcharge.

He said: "For being drink and disorderly and behaving totally stupid two grown men, I fine you £50 each.

"Just think next time before you get paralytic."
