A ROCK band and a Punch and Judy show are the latest additions to this year’s landmark Stourport Festival.
Wyre Forest rock group The Test Pilots have been named as headliners on the bandstand on the evening of this year’s festival, which takes place on September 5.
Tricky Mickey, who will be performing a Punch and Judy show to entertain the children, has also been announced by festival organiser Pete Roberts.
People buying a £1 programme will be entered into a prize draw have the chance win a trolley dash at the Co-op supermarket in Stourport
This year’s festival marks the 90th anniversary of the annual event and Mr Roberts said they are looking to mark the special landmark in style.
They are still on the lookout for more carnival queens from yesteryear to join a special open top bus parade.
Mr Roberts said around 25 former queens have got in touch, including one from 1953, but they were looking for a few more from days gone by.
Teams looking to win a barrel of ale are also being urged to flex their muscles and enter the tug-o-war contest that will take place on the day.
Former carnival queens, people wishing to enter the tug-o-war or obtain forms to have a float or trade stall at the carnival can contact Mr Roberts at Pete’s Prints in Bridge Street, Stourport or by calling 01299 879340.
