A YOUNG Kidderminster hairdresser gained invaluable experience working backstage at one of the biggest fashion weeks in the world this year.

Assisting London salon Easton Regal on the hair for the Ethologie by Jasper Garvida SS16 catwalk show, Clare Hatherille, of Elizabeth and Giovanni's Hair and Beauty, was invited along as part of her involvement on the Clynol Protégé Team.

Held at Essie Carpets, a Persian carpet shop filled with exotic Eastern patterns and fabrics in London’s Mayfair district, Clare and her team members pulled together among the backstage madness and helped to create the look of the show - double braided crowns.

Clare said: “I loved doing London Fashion Week - it was the highlight of my career. I found the overall atmosphere relaxing. Although there was the stress of getting the models ready, we had plenty of time and we worked well as a team. I’ve been so lucky throughout my career so far thanks to my bosses Elizabeth Mapp and Giovanni Perri who have given me so many opportunities and without them I wouldn’t have been so lucky as to experience this. I hope I can be a part of Fashion Week again next year.”

The Clynol Protégé Team is a programme run by Clynol for hairdressers aged 25 and under where members are given the opportunity to work for a year under the wing of Clynol’s premier hairdressers and technicians. The team can look forward to exciting opportunities such as their very own photo-shoot, training from renowned ambassadors and a wealth of education sessions.
