TRIBUTES have been paid to a former Wyre Forest councillor who has sadly died this week.
Jim Parish, who represented the Independent Community and Health Concern party, passed away on Wednesday, October 28.
Mr Parish was elected to Wyre Forest District Council in a by-election in September 2009 and represented the Lickhill ward.
He was re-elected in May 2011 and continued to serve the ward until May this year.
He was also a serving member for Worcestershire County Council. He was elected to represent the Severn Division from June 2001 to May 2005 and was re-elected in June 2009 to the Stourport-on-Severn Division, a position he continued to hold until he sadly passed away.
Councillor Chris Rogers, Chairman of Wyre Forest District Council said: “I was very sorry to hear of Jim’s passing, our condolences are with his family and friends at this sad time.
“Jim was a man of principles and integrity and represented the interests of his constituents. He contributed a great deal to the Council."
