CHILDREN from a Stourport school got into the Christmas Spirit by donating shoe boxes filled with presents to Operation Christmas Child.
Pupils at Burlish Park Primary filled more than 50 boxes with gifts, including hats, gloves, stationery and cuddly toys, to be sent to children less fortunate than themselves as part of the national appeal organised by charity Samaritans Purse.
Lynda Williams, eco schools co-ordinator said: “Operation Christmas Child is one of many charities that Burlish Park School supports. Our pupils really enjoyed filling the shoe boxes with gifts, and thinking of how excited children they will never meet will be when they open their over the Christmas period."
The shoe boxes from Burlish Park Primary are part of a consignment of approximately 9,600 boxes which left the local depot on Tuesday, 1 December, ready to be shipped from Liverpool to Russia and then transported to their final destination Kurdistan.
