2015 has been an exceptionally successful year for Katie, achieving numerous different accolades throughout the year.

One of the standout achievements of Katie’s this year has to be that of not only winning the Under 17’s hammer at the Sainsbury’s School games, but whilst doing so she also achieved the all-time longest throw by an under 17 female hammer thrower. She did this by achieving a distance of 63.08m in the 3kilogram hammer competition.

Along with this fantastic achievement, Katie also ended the year ranked No1 in the UK, she broke the Senior League record in which she threw the senior weight hammer and finally she also came in 1st place at Schools and Athletic Club’s Midland Championships. A very successful year indeed!!

With all of her individual accolades, Katie was also an integral member of the Kidderminster and Stourport Athletics Clubs promotion in 2015. She is a prime example to fellow athletes, proving that what you get out is a result of what you put in by training numerous times a week come rain or shine.

Along with the dedication to practice she also competed a staggering 46 times during the 2015 season in the hammer, shot and javelin winning on 29 occasions and finishing in the top three 44 times.

Katie is a dedicated young athlete who is destined to achieve big things, alongside this she is a fantastic junior role model offering help and advice to other throwers. A great junior ambassador for female throwers and athletics in general.
