A SPECIAL needs school in Kidderminster has developed its forest school thanks to a grant from Wyre Forest District Council.

Wyre Forest School, in Habberley Road, was recently awarded a grant of £200 from the Community Leadership Project, through the district council.

The all-inclusive special needs school spent the money on developing their forest school by purchasing three brightly coloured boomwackers to enhance the students outdoor learning.

Lyn Cole, business manager, said: “We were very pleased that we could be part of this on-going project supported by Wyre Forest District Council.

“The forest school is an area which all of our pupils across the age range of three to 19 to help them develop their self-esteem and confidence within an outdoor environment.

“The boomwackers enhance our pupils’ sensory experience. They love the brightness of the colours and the noise they make.”
