KIDDERMINSTER pupils are choosing a new look for their school with help from some student neighbours.

Foley Park Community Primary School, in Northumberland Avenue, has shortlisted three new logos produced for them by student designers at Kidderminster Academy. These are now being presented to the school’s parents, staff and governors before a final logo is unveiled in July.

Kathryn Sugars, headteacher, said: “We recently achieved a Good OFSTED rating, so introducing a new logo and uniform is the ideal way to celebrate and build on our success.

“We invited our pupils to share their thoughts around the school’s ethos of living and learning together so that Kidderminster Academy students could bring these to life through some fresh, vibrant images.

“We have been very impressed by the work produced by these professional designers in the making.”

The rebranding process began in February when pupils visited media production students at Kidderminster Academy to share their own artwork and give pointers on what they thought the new logo might include and then 20 designs were developed.

Cherith Nock, lecturer at Kidderminster Academy, added: “Our students really enjoy this collaborative design project.

“Although the choice of logos is now down to three, there are still plenty of opportunities for all parties to consider the colour and layout of the logo and other ways the images can be adapted.

“This is valuable experience for the students that will support their future learning and career development.”
