A KIDDERMINSTER hairdresser showed off his skills in style after winning a coveted national trade award.

Elizabeth and Giovanni's entered the National Hairdressers Federations Central England Hairdressing championship at the Council House in Birmingham on May 9.

And co-owner Giovanni Perri took home the first prize in the Men’s fashion look competition. To come first, Mr Perri had to do a cut and a finish in just 30 minutes.

There was further joy for the salon as three other stylists finished in the top three of the categories they had entered.

Emily Perri came second in the red carpet competition, in which she had to a hair up which was suitable for a red carpet event also in 30 minutes.

Leoni Coles came third in the women's fashion look competition, where she had to do a cut and finish in 40 minutes.

And Clare Hatherill came 2nd in the blow-dry competition, where she had to do a blow-dry and style in 30 minutes.
