A STOURPORT care home held a coffee morning to raise awareness of dementia.

Areley House Care Home, in Areley Lane, held the coffee morning on Monday (May 16) as part of Dementia Awareness Week – which runs between May 15 and May 21.

The home also had a Wear It Purple Day - the colour for dementia.

Lisa Cooper, activities co-ordinator at Areley House, said: “All of the staff wore something purple and all of the residents joined in too.”

Dementia Awareness Week encourages people to talk to someone if they are worried that they or someone close to them may have dementia.

The campaign, which is organised by the Alzheimer’s Society, also encourages people in Worcestershire to become a Dementia Friend.
