HEALTH Concern councillor Mary Rayner has been elected as Kidderminster’s new mayor for the forthcoming municipal year.
She was unanimously voted in to take on the role in Kidderminster Town Council’s first meeting following the parish elections earlier this month.
Councillor Rayner, who was first elected on to Wyre Forest District Council in 2012 and successfully defended her seat last year served as the Deputy Mayor in 2015/16.
Conservative councillor Nicky Gale, who was re-elected to the district council this year, was also unanimously elected to be the Deputy Mayor for the coming year.
