POWER has been restored to residents in Kidderminster who suffered from a powercut this afternoon.

Western Power Distribution confirmed they had a powercut in Kidderminster - the DY11 area - at around 12pm today (July 20).

But shortly before 1.20pm, a spokesman for WPD confirmed the power had been restored and apologised for the disruption.

It was believed around 96 properties had been affected by the problem.

Earlier today, a spokesman for WPD said: "There are currently 96 properties affected due to a fault on the underground network.

"Engineers are working to restore this as soon as possible.

"We estimate to have the power restored by 1.30pm."
