COMEDY group The Fizzogs are among the finalists announced for this year’s Black Country Chamber of Commerce Awards 2016.

The Dudley based group, known for their Dancing Grannies routine which went viral on the internet, have been shortlisted for an outstanding achievement award and are among a host of borough groups and businesses selected as finalists at this year’s awards which will be held at Wolverhampton Racecourse on November 18.

The Midlands Air Ambulance Charity in Lye has also been nominated for a community champion award.

Brierley Hill based firm Write Size Ltd is in the running for two awards – best new business and exporter of the year.

Avanti Fitted Kitchens Ltd in Lye has been shortlisted for an excellence in customer service award; Thomas Dudley is a finalist in the innovation and technology award category and The Black Country Living Museum’s Jordan Holloway has been selected as a finalist in the young person or apprentice of the year category.

Adrian Wright, Black Country Chamber president, said: “We are excited that the finalists have now been announced and I wish them luck. I also look forward to meeting all the finalists and other guests at the Black Country Chamber of Commerce Awards Dinner 2016.

“The awards dinner is a perfect opportunity to celebrate and reward the excellent businesses we have in the Black Country.

“The judging panel were very impressed with the high standard of award entries this year and we were delighted with the record number of applications.”

The winners will be announced at the awards dinner.
