HERE'S your evening news round-up for the Black Country and north Worcestershire.

Police were today on the hunt for the driver of a red Ford Focus following a hit and run outside a Wollescote school this morning (Monday September 12).

Four people were injured, including two young children – both aged three – and two women, utside Hob Green Primary School, in Hob Green Road, at 9am.

They were all taken to Russells Hall Hospital for precautionary checks but officers said they were not seriously hurt.

Police enquiries got underway to find the person who was behind the wheel of the red Ford Focus C-Max when the pedestrians were struck.

A Sedgley football thug who took part in a vicious unprovoked gang attack that left a rival fan with a life changing brain injury will have to wait to learn how long he must spend behind bars.

Three other young hooligans who pounced on 44-year-old father-of-two Nic Cruwys after a Wolves game at Molineux have been put behind bars for a total of 98 months.

Judge Simon Ward said Mr Cruwys was so badly injured he had to spend nearly two weeks in an induced coma and the following three months in hospital.

Council chiefs are reminding residents they do not have to pay others to challenge their council tax banding if they think its wrong.

Wyre Forest District Council is concerned some companies are cold calling residents and using social media to give a false impression that residents have to pay for this service.

In fact - residents can challenge themselves, free of charge, within six months of moving into their home or if there have been physical changes to the property, the neighbourhood, or the use of the building.

A drug dealer from Oldbury has been jailed for eight years after police brought down a gang who sold huge amounts cocaine and heroin across the Midlands.

Adam Whiteley, aged 35 of Wheatsheaf Road, was one of 13 dealers jailed for over 130 years at Birmingham Crown Court.

A Redditch man has been jailed at Worcester Crown Court after admitting a second conviction of possessing indecent pictures of young children.

David Williams, 53, of Packwood Close, was said by prosecutor Christopher Lester to have 403 images on his three computers when his home was raided by police this year after a tip-off.

There were 110 of category A - the most serious, 164 of category B and 129 of category C.

He also had an extreme pornography picture.
