SEVERN Valley Railway is promising it has all the ingredients for a fun-filled, family day out this summer.

Between July 22, and September 3, families can enjoy a day out on the Railway for £44 - thanks to the family summer saver offer.

The family freedom of the line tickets include unlimited travel along the line during the day and free admission to the Engine House Visitor Centre.

The tickets are valid for up to two adults or seniors and up to four children - and are available to pre-book or purchase on the day. They are also valid during the Classic Vehicle Day, on July 30, and Steam on the Road, over the weekend of August 12, and August 13.

Throughout the summer, the SVR's heritage steam trains will be in full steam, ready to take visitors for an exciting journey of adventure from Kidderminster to Bridgnorth, where you can stop off to explore any of the six historic stations.

Ideal for keeping the kids entertained, summer activity Wednesday will take place at the Engine House throughout August, offering youngsters the chance to join in the summer-themed quiz, have their face painted, enter the 'name the teddy' competition, and much more.

The Coalyard Miniature Railway at Kidderminster will also be in operation on selected dates, weather permitting.

Clare Gibbard, marketing and communications manager, said: "There is lots to see and do for everyone this summer, from our activity Wednesdays to our brand new exhibition - and our new family summer saver means that families can enjoy a whole day of fun at a great value price.

"There is so much to explore in and around each of our stations, including some fantastic picnic spots, not to mention our Engine House Visitor Centre which is home to no less than eight steam locomotives and some fantastic family-friendly activities, so why not join us for a day of adventure?"
