A GROUP of charitable friends will don festive attire to raise funds for a children's cancer charity during a fundraising pub crawl in Bewdley.

Julie Hardiman will be setting off on her annual non-alcoholic crawl around pubs in Bewdley to raise money for Children with Cancer UK on Saturday (December 23).

This year, she will be joined by Ashleigh Simester, Mel Humphries, Jane Spragg, Mark Reece, Ryan Hardiman and Kieran Devonport.

Last year, the group raised more than £400 for the charity - and even bumped into Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant during the pub crawl.

Julie said: "We will be visiting the Rising Sun, Wagon and Horses, Great Western, Hop Pole, Little Packhorse, the George, the Arches, Cock and Magpie, the Mug House, Horn and Trumpet, White Swan and the Talbot."

Julie first started fundraising for Children with Cancer UK in 2009 after gaining a 2010 London Marathon ballot place. She is close to raising £30,000 for the charity in eight years - and hopes to beat this target before 2018.

Children with Cancer UK funds research into causes and treatments and supports families of youngsters affected by cancer.
