THE search is on to fill Royal Consort roles at this year’s Stourport Carnival – with boys being invited to take part for the first time in the event’s history.

Committee members revealed that they are looking to fill two prince roles along with the traditional queen, princess and rosebud positions for the carnival, which will be held in the town on September 1.

The event to choose the consort will be held at The Wharf in Stourport on Sunday, June 10.

Budding rosebuds and younger princes need to be aged between five and nine on carnival day and judging for this will take place at 1pm.

Would be princesses and older princes need to be aged between 10 and 15 on carnival day and judging will take place at 3pm.

And the queen will be selected from contestants at 5pm.
