DELIGHTED vegans have raised hundreds of pounds to fund animal rescue work after a charity quiz night.
Wyre Forest Vegans received £465.50 which will be donated to the Kidderminster and District RSPCA at the event last Thursday (April 26) - held at St Michael’s and All Angels Church Hall, Stourport.
Alongside the quiz, visitors were treated to a free all-you-can-eat vegan buffet.
Wyre Forest Vegans Co-ordinator Ronald Lee said: “Our local RSPCA branch does excellent work in rescuing and finding good homes for abandoned and ‘unwanted’ cats, dogs and other animals, but are always in desperate need of financial support, as they receive no funding from the central RSPCA.
“That’s why, as a group that believes in compassion towards all animals, we are delighted our Quiz Night raised so much for them.
“The event was a sell-out, meaning that many people who wanted to buy tickets weren’t able to, but we’ve put them top of the list for our next fundraiser.”
