A KIDDERMINSTER hospice is saying “Hello” to Wyre Forest women in one of its flagship fundraising events that will also pay tribute to one of the world’s biggest pop stars.

Registration is now open for Kemp Hospice’s annual girls’ only ‘Midnight Walk’ event that will see women take part in a 5k trek through the Wyre Forest on the night of Friday, June 15.

This year’s event will feature a first as Natalie Anne Black, who is a tribute act to Adele, will be performing a special concert.

Kemp’s Midnight Walk has been taking place since 2007 and seen around 3,000 women raised almost £300,000 to support the hospice’s work with people living with life-limiting illness or dealing with bereavement.

Event organiser Shelley Stanley said: “I’m really excited about this year’s Midnight Walk.

“After 10 years of hosting them at the Wyre Forest, with the support of the Forestry Commission, it’s great to return there and to finally bring a live concert to the event as well with our friends at Oakleaf Commercial Services who have returned to sponsor the event once again.

“We couldn’t ask for a better act too. Natalie Anne Black has toured the world performing as Adele and we’re thrilled that she can bring some of that ‘Hometown Glory’ to Kemp’s hometown and to perform all of Adele’s biggest hits live for us in an incredible moonlit setting.”

She added: “This year we want as many women from across the Wyre Forest to sign up.

“We want mothers and daughters, sisters and aunties, cousins and grandmas to join together and show Worcestershire that when it comes to fundraising, sisters are doing it for themselves and in the Wyre Forest we can do it better than anyone.

“Kemp Hospice look after so many people who desperately need our help and support, either through illness or because they’ve lost a loved one.

“This is the perfect way for women to get together with their girlfriends and do something incredible, for an incredible cause.”

The Midnight Walk costs £15 per person to take part and people can register online at www.kemphospice.org.uk or you can call the Kemp events line on 01562 756077.

Alternatively, people can collect a registration form from the hospice on Mason Road, Kidderminster or from all of Kemp’s retail shops.
