A COMMUNITY-spirited Stourport supermarket lent their support to volunteer litter pickers to help keep their area clean.
Tesco Stourport worked with The Pickup Artists to carry out a one hour operation to collect rubbish from the area.
And their efforts saw them fill 11 big bags full of litter and help make the town tidier.
The success of the litter pick, which took place on Monday, May 21, means the supermarket is looking to hold more events.
Earlier this year, resident Michelle Medler created The Pickup Artists’ “Keeping Kidderminster and Surrounding Places Clean” Facebook group in a bid to instil more pride in the district.
They are now working with schools and carrying out clean-up operations in the area, targeting areas badly affected.
Nicola Gibbs, from Tesco Stourport, said: “We are working with the Pickup Artists to help support keeping the local community rubbish free.
“We did a one hour litter pick and got 11 bags of rubbish. We are going to look at doing more of these in the future.”
