BEWDLEY youngsters have joined a campaign to help make their environment clean and tidy.

Pupils at Bewdley Primary School were invited to become Junior Pickup Artists and encourage their classmates to have more pride in their area.

They will be working alongside the ‘Pickup Artists’ group set up by community-spirited Kidderminster resident Michelle Medler.

She has also set up the “Keeping Kidderminster and Surrounding Places Clean” Facebook group which urges people to join them in looking after their streets.

Bewdley is the second school to join the initiative following Wolverley Sebright Primary.

The school’s eco committee said they are very committed to improving their environment and can’t wait to inspire fellow pupils to join in with their latest venture.

Harry Donovan, age 11, said: “It is great that we can be part of this litter picking project so that we can help improve our environment outside of school. We need to take care of where we live.”
