BEWDLEY Town Football Club have suffered an unexpected penalty after their Ribbesford Meadow ground was broken into last Wednesday.
The intruders stole a pump, together with a ride-on and petrol mower.
Dismayed Bewdley Town secretary Steve Godfrey said: "We used the pump to water the pitch from the river, which is vital at this time of year.
"The items stolen were stored in a container and I honestly don't know how the thieves managed to break into it".
Kidderminster firm 'Hire It' has come to Bewdley's rescue with a replacement pump while Alan Guest Mowing Services are currently cutting the pitch.
Mr Godfrey added: "It's very annoying because of the damage caused and we'll have to repair the container.
"We are appealing for anyone who might have information to come forward or contact the police".
