WYRE Forest music-lovers can sit back, relax and enjoy a host of free outdoor concerts on Sunday afternoons this summer.

Wyre Forest District Council will hold the concerts in three parks, bringing swing, folk and the blues to audiences - starting with The Swinging Bass Band at The Bandstand at Stourport Riverside on Saturday July 1.

Folk band Nothing to Prove will take the Stourport stage on Sunday July 8, with Stourport Brass band performing on July 15 - both taking place from 2.30pm to 4.30pm.

Those from Kidderminster can catch R&B band Chicago Bytes on July 15 at Brinton Park, with more musical events taking place every following Sunday from 2.30pm to 4.30pm.

Music enthusiasts can also head to Bewdley’s Queen Elizabeth Park to watch vocal quartet Berkeley Square, and folk band Kim Lowings and The Greenwood on August 5 and August 12 respectively.

Councillor Juliet Smith, Wyre Forest District Council’s Cabinet Member for Culture, Leisure and Community Protection said: “Our annual outdoor concerts are always a big hit with audiences.

“They cover a huge variety of music genres and are entirely free to enjoy.

“They provide a great opportunity for friends to meet up and enjoy live music in the wonderful surroundings of our three most popular parks.”
