Mark Yates has pulled off a transfer surprise by agreeing a deal to bring back former Harriers midfielder Dean Bennett to Aggborough on loan from Chester City.
Bennett, 29, has struggled to make an impact at the Deva Stadium in League Two in the early stages of this season but returns to Kidderminster, where he spent five seasons earlier in his career.
'Deano' first arrived in Kidderminster in January 1999, signing from Bromsgrove Rovers for £30,000 in time to finish the season in the Championship-winning side of 1999-2000.
He went on to make 228 appearances for Harriers, scoring 32 goals - including a memorable run of seven goals in as many consecutive league games in 2001.
He turned down new terms at Aggborough in favour of a career change and a move to Wrexham in 2004, but his spell at the Racecourse was plagued by injury and he was limited to just over 50 appearances in two seasons - more than half of those from the bench.
He switched to Chester last summer and last season made 31 league and cup starts in League Two.
The deal will see Bennett return to Aggborough for three months.
