FORMER Bewdley Mayor Anna Coleman will be contesting the vacant Wyre Forest District Council seat – as a Conservative once again.
Councillor Coleman defected from the Tories to the Green Party back in 2016 but is standing in the Bewdley & Rock by-election on Thursday, September 20 under Conservative colours.
Newly-elected Bewdley Town Council Labour member Rod Stanczyszyn will also contest the seat along with Liberal Democrat Clare Ramona Cassidy and John Edward Davis of the Greens.
The by-election was called following the sad death of Conservative councillor Rod Wilson last month.
Polling stations will be St George’s Hall, Load Street, Bewdley, St Anne’s CE Primary School, Wyre Hill, Bewdley and Far Forest Society Pavilion, Callow Hill, Rock. Electors should check their poll card for details of where to vote and voting will be open from 7am until 10pm.
The count will be held in the Council Chamber at Wyre Forest House, starting at 10pm on September 20 and will be webcast via www.wyreforestdc.gov.uk/webcast.
More information about the candidates and the election can be found in the Upcoming Elections section of the council’s website www.wyreforestdc.gov.uk/elections
