AN ENERGETIC group of women in Kidderminster have got together England Hockey to launch a brand new club for the 2018-2019 season.
Wyre Forest Ladies hockey Club is aimed at busy women who want to play hockey but have to juggle it around hectic schedules.
Girls over the age of 14 and of all abilities are welcome will be holding an open day at Stourport Sports Club on Saturday, September 1 from 10-11.30am.
Chairwoman Amy Ashcroft said: “Women often leave team sports due to children or work schedules clashing with the commitment required to be part of a club, but the current club members are busy mums or shift workers- or both.
“We have weekly training and matches and an active social life, in an environment that understands childcare issues and shift work. Our club offers fitness, a friendship group and a bit of ‘me-time’ which is really important for our own wellbeing.”
