WOLVES’ legend Steve Bull got into the swing of things to help raise thousands at Cleobury Mortimer Golf Club’s annual charity day.

More than 100 golfers from across the West Midlands joined the former England striker to take part in the MG Shopfront Charity Golf Day in support of Promise Dreams and the Steve Bull Foundation.

And the event was a huge success with more than £12,500 being raised for the two causes.

Mark Greenfield, who is a member of the club and owner of MG Shopfronts in Dudley, has sponsored the event for the three years it has been run. It has previously raised thousands in support of the Teenage Cancer Trust.

This year’s event was sold out weeks in advance and Mr Greenfield said: “The two chosen charities are both local and mean a lot to myself and my family.

“It is important to know the money raised from the event would help local people.

“We got Steve Bull involved last year and this year Steve and his wife have been a great help in helping it expand.”
