THE mayor of Kidderminster joined staff and customers at a town centre desserts shop to celebrate its one-year anniversary.

Cllr Martin Stooke joined the celebrations at Delightful Desserts on Wednesday, November 7, when visitors were given free cakes and Prosecco to mark its first anniversary in Oxford Street.

Baz Kooner, director of Delightful Desserts, said: "We have been overwhelmed by the response from the Kidderminster community.

"We have always wanted to open here and we are so glad we did.

"The people of Kidderminster have welcomed us with both arms and have kept us very busy this past year and hopefully for many more years to come."

Since opening last November, the store has employed 20 staff from the local area, and now sells a range of 45 ice cream flavours, freshly prepared waffles, crepes, cakes and hot and cold drinks.

Branch manager Tina James added: "I have thoroughly enjoyed working for Delightful Desserts and being part of a great team here in our Kidderminster branch.

"We all work really hard to provide a great service to keep customers coming back."
