A REMARKABLE work of art has been donated to the Royal British Legion.

Cristina Mitchell, of Colwyn Heights, donated her modern art oil sculpture - titled Our Soldiers are Heroes - to the Colwyn Bay British Legion on Remembrance Sunday.

It took Mrs Mitchell three years and eight months to finish the work.

It was unveiled by Lt Col David Drysdale.

Speaking about her 3D painting, Mrs Mitchell said: "I have worked on it on and off. It makes me happy painting, it is all in my head, the vision what I want it to look like. It is built up, layer after layer.

"I love the people in the country. I would like to share the gift that I have got in my mind. I can't put it in to words."

Cristina has been supported by her friend and former neighbour Brian Handy, of Abergele. Both are members of the British Legion.
