VISITORS from far and wide will be getting into the festive spirit at Worcestershire County Museum's 'Christmas at the Castle' in Hartlebury.

The annual weekend of seasonal activities, including a chance to meet Father Christmas, will be held at Hartlebury Castle from Saturday, December 8 to Sunday, December 9.

Children can take part in a variety of craft activities, including making a Christmas dove decoration, getting their faces painted and writing an all-important letter to Santa.

There will be entertainment from local choirs and musical groups, craft and gift stalls and rooms dressed for the festive season.

Visitors can stir the Christmas pudding and make pomanders in the castle's scullery with the housemaid, or enjoy a horse and carriage ride on the Sunday out in the carriage circle.

There will also be opportunities to explore the new developments at Hartlebury Castle, including talking portraits, the long gallery and a stroll around the moat, revealing the grounds for the very first time.

Events officer Pippa Ashmore said: "Christmas is all about enjoying ourselves and spending time with loved ones.

"The County Museum offers the perfect atmosphere for some traditional festive fun and entertainment, at an affordable price."
