GENEROUS slimmers from across Wyre Forest will be donating their tempting treats from Christmas to KEMP Hospice to help keep their weight loss journeys on track.

Slimming World groups across Kidderminster, Bewdley, Stourport and Kinver will be introducing ‘syn bins’ in their groups between December 27 and January 5 to collect any unwanted temptations that members may have left in the house after the Christmas festivities.

These goodies will be donated to Kidderminster’s KEMP Hospice – the groups’ chosen charity for 2019 – to celebrate Slimming World and KEMP’s 50th anniversaries.

Wyre Forest slimmers have set themselves a target for the year of £5,000, and have already raised £500 from recent raffles held at Christmas parties.

Claire Wier, Slimming World team developer, said: “This is a very exciting time for us and we want to celebrate 50 years of helping members lose weight while supporting a charity close to so many in the area who are also celebrating 50 years doing amazing work.

“The syn bin is just the start and is something we have done over the years and helps a lot of slimmers to get back on track after celebrating Christmas.

“It is great to think that we can support such a worthwhile charity whilst protecting our own weight loss journey. All donations can be brought into any of our groups where we will have a collection ‘bin’ ready.”

Any unopened, non-perishable treats such as biscuits, chocolates, savoury snacks or cheese biscuits can be donated.
