A NEW vegan sausage roll launched at Greggs last week, but Kidderminster stores have missed out.
The bakery's new vegan offering was rolled into 950 stores across the country last Thursday (January 3), but Kidderminster's two town centre stores have not been included.
A spokesperson for Greggs said: “Our Vegan Sausage Roll is available in 950 shops. Before looking to roll it out further we are keen to gauge customer demand.”
The vegan spin has some "classic features" of the traditional sausage roll, according to Greggs, including 96 layers of puff pastry - but instead of meat the filling is made with Quorn.
Greggs said the launch follows "strong consumer demand", including a petition by Peta last year signed by more than 20,000 people.
