MULTIPLE fire crews continue to deal with the aftermath of a blaze at a Kidderminster wood processing plant which happened this morning (January 10).

Crews worked through the night to bring the flames under control at M&M Timber in Clows Top, using six fire engines, two water carriers, hose reel jets, and breathing apparatus. 

On arrival at the single-storey wood processing plant at, around 2.30am, a 40m by 20m area was well alight, but crews quickly established that no people were in the building.

At the height of the fire, 30 fire crew from four fire stations across Hereford and Worcester were in attendance, as well as Shropshire Fire & Rescue Service. 

Fire crews remain at the scene for damping down and the Fire Investigation team is now on site to determine the cause of the fire.

In addition to the timber, risks included the presence of oxy acetylene cylinders, asbestos in the roof materials, and the structural damage of the fire.
