KIDDERMINSTER Rotary Club have given £500 to help a hospice with their work providing free care and support to people with life-limiting illnesses.
The donation was presented to Claire James, the fundraiser of St Richard’s Hospice, in memory of past club President Ray Mace.
On an earlier visit to the Rotary Club, Ray’s widow, Judy said: “Ray received tremendous support from the staff there when he was ill.”
Claire thanked the club for the generous donation.
She said: “Ray also gave back to the hospice by sharing his experiences to help raise the profile of the charity. This is a very fitting way to continue to remember Ray and his contribution to both The Hospice and The Rotary Club”.
The hospice cares for more than 3,300 patients and the bereaved across Worcestershire.
Patients have a range of life-limiting illnesses, which include heart failure, Parkinson’s, motor neurone disease, and cancer.
St Richard’s is an independent charity and relies on donations, gifts and fund-raising events for £2.2 million every year.
