A MAN from Kidderminster has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after unarmed officers were shot at near Lake Vyrnwy in Powys.
Dyfed-Powys Police attended an address near Lake Vyrnwy at around 10.50am on Monday (January 21) after concerns were raised about the welfare of the occupant.
On arrival, the occupant - a 44-year-old man from the Kidderminster area - is said to have discharged a gun towards unarmed officers.
They were unhurt and retreated to a safe place.
A full firearms incident was declared with specialist armed officers containing the scene.
An NPAS helicopter also attended and road closures were put in place.
The suspect, who was the only person involved in the incident, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and firearms offences.
He was taken to hospital with a police escort after a "medical episode".
Police remained at the scene today (Tuesday) and an investigation is ongoing.
