POLICE have reissued their appeal for witnesses after a pensioner died following a crash on the A456 Bewdley Bypass on Christmas Eve.

The collision occurred at around 10am on Monday, December 24 and involved a grey VW Golf and a silver Honda Civic.

The passenger in the VW Golf - 85-year-old John Slatter, of Cheltenham in Gloucestershire - sadly passed away in hospital on Christmas Day.

Other occupants of the vehicles involved sustained non life-threatening injuries.

West Mercia Police is now renewing its appeal for witnesses and is encouraging anyone with information to come forward.

A police spokesman said: "Witnesses or anyone with information are asked to call 101 quoting ref 185s of December 24.

"Please ask for the information to be passed on to PC 1628 Emma Breay, of West Mercia Police."
