MUSIC fans are invited to a special church concert featuring the work of a Bewdley composer.

Bewdley Methodist Church’s next ‘Music in the Chapel’ concert will take place on Saturday March 23, and will feature the music of composer Jim Ineson.

Jim was born and educated locally at King Charles Grammar School Jim, working in the carpet industry both in the UK and the USA.

He played rugby for Kidderminster Carolians RFC before his career took him overseas, but had now settled back in Bewdley.

He is known as the composer of music for the annual “Bewdley Passion” and for the Son et Lumière “Forest, River & Royals”, which was performed as part of the Bewdley Heritage Festival.

He has also contributed music for the Bewdley Festival Service and for the recent Bewdley Community Pantomime, “Cinderella”.

Jim’s song-writing began whilst living in Los Angeles back in the 1980’s, where he collaborated on several musical theatre productions.

Jim will share his musical journey and talk about the talented people he has been lucky enough to work with along the way.

The composer will be joined by singers Nicci Lane and Harry Lewis, as well as David Hawker on saxophone and clarinet.

Tickets for the concert cost £8.00, which includes light refreshments, and are available from Neil Sollom by calling 07780 650491 or emailing neilsollom@btinternet.com, or by calling Mike Dernie on 01299 400284, or emailing mikedernie@aol.com.

The concert will start at 2.30pm.
