THE occupants of cars involved in an early morning road smash on the A449 at Cookley managed to escape uninjured.

Two cars were involved in the incident which happened this morning (Wednesday February 27) at the junction with Wolverhampton Road and Caunsall Road just before 8am.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to the scene of the smash, which involved a white Peugeot and a blue car and which left traffic tailing back as far as the area known as The Stewponey.

The female driver of one of the cars, aged in her 20s, was assessed at the scene and discharged - and an elderly man who was driving the other vehicle was reported to have refused medical assessment.

Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service also sent firefighters to the scene of the incident which happened near The Anchor Inn.
