THE worst of Storm Gareth's wet and windy weather is expected to continue in bursts throughout the afternoon and overnight, the Met Office has warned.

Wyre Forest has been hit by heavy rain and strong winds already this morning, with fast flowing water in rivers and canals and standing water on some country lanes.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for wind in the region lasting until 3pm tomorrow, and is warning residents to expect delays on buses and trains, with possible short term losses of power.

Gusts of up to 60mph have been recorded in areas of the West Midlands and forecasters say strong west to northwesterly winds are expected from Tuesday afternoon until Wednesday.
