A CARE home in Kidderminster is inviting members of the local community to join its elderly residents for tea, cake and a chat to raise money for charities.

On Friday, March 15 from 11.30am, Brook Court in Oldnall Road will open its doors to the public for a Mad Hatter-themed tea party and cake sale in aid of Dementia UK and Comic Relief.

Residents and visitors will be able to relax and enjoy hot drinks, alongside a selection of indulgent treats specially prepared by Brook Court chefs, in exchange for a small donation which will go to the worthy charities.

Home manager Gill Pratt said: “Thousands of people around the UK are living with dementia, and we understand all too well how much this can affect their lives and the lives of their loved ones.

“Hosting a special Mad Hatter's tea party provides us with a great opportunity to thank Dementia UK and the Admiral Nurses for the incredible work that they do.

"We are also excited to raise funds for Comic Relief, which helps people all over the world.

"We hope local people will join us on the day, wear a hat, and share a cuppa with friends.”
