AN up and coming stock car driver from Astley, near Stourport, is ready for the racing season after securing sponsorship from a Kidderminster building suppliers to kit out his new vehicle.
Ollie Holford is eager to get behind the wheel of his single-seat F2-Outlaw stock car, which has been freshly branded thanks to a sponsorship deal from Thompson & Parkes, based at Oldington Trading Estate.
The 19-year-old said: "As a young driver it’s great to have support with the cost of designing and painting my new car and from such a local and respected business as Thompson & Parkes.
"With the car having a complete overhaul as well as a brand-new look for the new season it will be good to see how it performs, and hopefully to gain a few wins as the season progresses would be great."
Ollie will be testing out his new wheels at the Grimley Oval Raceway on March 31.
Thompson & Parkes manager Gary Watts said: “Ollie wanted a sponsor for his new car and as we’ve known and worked with him and his dad Andy on a number of successful projects we were delighted to agree and help.
"Although this is the first time we’ve sponsored a local racing driver, we hope it will be the start of an alliance that will last for the foreseeable future.”
