CARAVANS have been escorted by police officers from the Hoo Farm Industrial Estate in Kidderminster.

Tenants say a group of travellers have been disrupting trade by parking their caravans in front of businesses.

Around five caravans were parked on the drives of businesses in Roland Way.

The cohort arrived this morning (Tuesday, March 26), and police were quickly called to the estate.

One of the businesses affected was the Silver Lion Trading Company.

Director Fiona Sirett told The Shuttle: "We have been here for five years now, and we have never seen anything like this before.

"This has been very disruptive to all of our trade here."

West Mercia Police has since confirmed that the travellers have been escorted from the site after being served with a notice to leave.

A police spokesman said just after 4pm: "A marked police vehicle is currently escorting the travellers from the site after notice was served.

"Officers are still at the scene helping to move them along."

They added: "We can confirm that the travellers have passed Belbroughton with no signs of stopping so officers are standing down."
