WYRE forest dancers are invited to show off their best moves at a new dance festival in Stourport.

The Civic, Stourport is launching its first Dance festival on Sunday June 16, which is a competition is aimed at all dance groups within Wyre Forest.

The Civic Volunteers will be running the event in conjunction with Dance West Midlands, which runs its own event in Kidderminster.

A representative of the dance committee stated: "The festival is a launch event with the intention of holding a weekend event 2020, many dance schools in Wyre Forest are looking for a competition they can attend which encourages healthy challenges alongside having fun".

The festival will give young dancers the opportunity to experience working on a full stage with lights, music and costumes alongside the rules and standards expected from a competition.

The Civic will welcome new starters, as well as dancing veterans.

There will also be opportunity for duets, trios, groups and troupes to show off their hard work and talent, which will be judged by a British Federation adjudicator.

The event will run from 8am until 8pm.
