CONSTITUENTS in Wyre Forest have just hours left to register to vote for next month's all-out council elections.

All 33 seats on Wyre Forest District Council will be contested in the election on Thursday, May 2, as residents head to the polls to have their say on who represents them at a local level.

Residents should have received their poll cards through the post already, but have until midnight on Friday, April 12 to register at their current address to be able to vote.

To register, visit or get a paper copy of the registration form from the customer service centre at Kidderminster Town Hall.

Voters can also vote by post or proxy. The deadline for new postal voting requests is 5pm on Monday, April 15, or 5pm on Wednesday, April 24 for proxy votes. Visit for details.

The polling stations for the elections will be open between 7am and 10pm on May 2. All registered electors will be sent a polling card which will tell them where they can cast their vote.

Chris Hinde, electoral commission regional manager for the Midlands, said: “If you have recently turned 18 or moved home, it is particularly important that you act to ensure that you are registered to vote.

"It takes just five minutes online and means that you can take part in this important election.”

The Shuttle will be reporting live from the election count at Wyre Forest Leisure Centre on Friday, May 3.
