THREE people have been jailed for drug offences following an investigation by police after reports of drug dealing from a Kidderminster address.

Katherine Ray, aged 42, of Jubilee Drive, Kidderminster, Callum Clee, aged 21, of Willow Road, Dudley, and Muhammed Shabaz Sheikh, aged 23, of New Birmingham Road, Dudley, pleaded guilty at Hereford Crown Court on Friday (26 April).

Ray and Clee were sentenced to 30 months imprisonment for being concerned in the supply of class A drugs heroin and crack cocaine

Sheikh was sentenced to four years imprisonment for being concerned in the supply of class A drugs heroin and crack cocaine.

As part of their investigation, officers discovered a large amount of individually wrapped heroin and crack cocaine bags on Clee.

At the time of the investigation, Ray was allowing the drugs to be sold from her premises and also selling drugs.

Further enquiries linked Sheikh to the running of a drug line in the area.

Speaking following the sentencing, DC Marc Waring said: "We will always take reports of drug dealing seriously and do everything we can to ensure our communities are kept safe and protected from harm.

"I want to make it clear that dealing drugs and also allowing your home to be used for drugs to be sold by a person, or group of people from outside of the area is not acceptable.

"If you are asked to allow your premises to be the venue for such activities please contact us immediately so that we can help."

He added: "Our officers, in particular our local Safer Neighbourhood Team worked very closely with investigating officers throughout to ensure those offenders were brought to justice."
