AN acclaimed singer from Nashville will return to Bewdley to perform her unique music inspired by the American South.

The songwriter Hannah Aldridge will serenade music enthusiasts at St George’s Hall on Friday, May 3, performing her passionate and defiant country sound direct from the deep roots of Muscle Shoals, Alabama.

This is the first time the singer will perform in Bewdley with a band, (The Goat Roper Rodeo band), following her appearance last year whilst promoting her album ‘Gold Rush.’

Mixing her personal life and the sounds of her hometown, the artist’s music draws in influences from across the rock and country genre.

The singer said: “My music is an introspective look at the things that happened in my life. It’s me trying to sort through and put feelings into words.”

The artist also interweaves gothic storytelling elements into her music.

Hannah is the daughter of legendary country songwriter Walt Aldridge, a prolific Alabama hall of famer, whose songs have been recorded by notable artists such as Lou Reed.

This concert is the latest instalment in the ‘Music in the Hall’ concerts, where Bewdley organisers continue to host performers from the USA, Canada and the UK.

Kidderminster Youth Act Humble Helios will open the concert.

Tickets for the event cost £12 and are available from thehall-bewdley.org.uk, or from the Hall Café.

Doors open at 7.30pm.
