WORCESTERSHIRE people are being encouraged to steam ahead and trawl through their attics in a bid to unearth some forgotten treasures.

Any interesting items uncovered could then get the VIP treatment as Severn Valley Railway prepares to stage their first ever Antiques Railshow.

The event takes place next Saturday May 11 at Severn Valley's atmospheric Kidderminster station when television celebrities from the world of antiques will be on hand to give their expert opinion.

Staged in conjunction with Stourbridge-based Fieldings Auctioneers, items will be evaluated by renown BBC Antiques Roadshow regular Will Farmer, Nick Davies of BBC's 'Flog It' and Rachel Houston-Holland of ITV Masterpiece with Alan Titchmarsh.

They will all be on hand from 11am until 3pm when running the rule over items of jewellery, silver, paintings, militaria and other antique collectibles.

The experts will be happy to talk through the history of items while giving a valuation as well.

The Railshow will also be on the lookout for donations with money raised from the event going in aid of The Severn Valley Railway Heritage Skills Training Academy.
