MUSIC lovers, classic car enthusiasts and rock 'n' roll fans can revisit the 1950s at a free 'Party in the Park' coming to Stourport next month.

The event, organised by Wyre Forest District Council in partnership with Hickmans of Kidderminster, will take place at Riverside Meadows on Sunday, June 2 between 11am and 6pm.

The day will celebrate all things 1950s and has a packed programme of rock ‘n’ roll bands and performances. The line-up includes Heartbeats, The Hayriders, Hi Boy Trio and Pagan Shane Gould.

There will be a glitter tattoo stand, a variety of craft stalls to browse, including rock 'n' roll clothing, and food and refreshments on sale during the day.

Linda Draycott, corporate director of community, wellbeing and environment at the council, said: “This free concert promises to be a great start to your summer. There will be a wide variety of talented bands, artists, stalls and classic cars.

“Our summer programme is gearing up to be one of the best yet, so keep an eye on our website and social media pages where we will continue to keep you updated on future events."

Owners of classic cars will have the opportunity to showcase their motors at the Party in the Park and can register for a pitch at wyreforestdc.gov.uk/rocknroll. There is a charge of £5 per car and £2.50 per motorcycle.

Any market stall owners who are interested in holding a stand at the event can submit an enquiry at wyreforestdc.gov.uk/tradestall.
