JAMES Bentley will deputise for Aaron Smith at hooker for Saints’ trip to the KCOM Stadium to face third placed Hull FC on Friday night.

Hull-bound Adam Swift comes into Justin Holbrook’s 19 man squad in the only change from last week.

Smith, who was carried off early in the win over Warrington was discharged from hospital over the weekend, has experienced headaches and pain in his neck this week and has not recovered in time for Friday night’s clash.

Holbrook said: "James Bentley came on after three minutes and did a pretty good job for us against Warrington.

"He did great for us - it was a big job and he handled it well."

He expect the Black and Whites to provide a stern test after the way they have played this past six weeks.

“It’s another massive challenge for us Friday to travel up to Hull FC who are sitting third, so it doesn’t get any easier.

“Hull FC have good halves, strong outside backs and a big forward pack so it’s going to be a really tough game up there on Friday.

“They have Albert Kelly, Jake Connor, Mark Sneyd and Jamie Shaul at the back and they have some really key play makers that are very good players and the rest of the sides pretty strong as well,” he said.
