A GYM in Kidderminster is offering free six-week memberships to help teenagers in Kidderminster reduce stress levels in the lead up to results day.

Youngsters aged between 16 and 18 will be able to access the gym at Crossley Retail Park free of charge for six weeks this summer.

A spokesman for The Gym Group said: "With exam season almost at an end, teenagers across Kidderminster are celebrating the fact school is now out for the summer and looking for something fun to do.

"Yet, while revision is firmly behind them, results day is just around the corner for stressed teenagers.

"So in a bid to keep young people both physically and emotionally fit across the next two months, The Gym Kidderminster is offering free six-week memberships to local 16 to18 year olds as part of its First Steps to Exercise campaign."

The campaign, which has been backed by grime artist Big Narstie, follows research by The Gym Group which found that 77 per cent of teens admitted exam season contributed to increased levels of anxiety and stress.

The poll also found that most students abandoned their usual exercise regimes when it came to crunch study times.

Students have until July 16 to sign up for their free six-week membership.

The gym will be open to this age group for free between 9.30am to 4pm seven days a week.

Teenagers will need to prove they are aged 16 to 18 by showing a passport, student card or driving license when they visit the gym.
